About This Commitment
Starting in April 2026, Equity Heartbeats committed to fund a Pathshala (a community learning center) for a full year, in partnership with the India Tribal Care Trust. Nimai's Pathshala sits in Borogora village, Purulia District, West Bengal, India, where it gives 20–25 tribal children a place to learn every day.
This is our first international education commitment. Rather than a one-time gift, we've signed on for a full year of operational support so the classroom can keep running, month after month.
Transparency & Impact
Tracking our impact matters to us. Each month, our partners on the ground share an update from the Pathshala so we, and our supporters, can see the difference the sponsorship makes:
- Updated student progress and attendance
- Recent photos and videos of the children and their activities
- Direct feedback and short stories from students and teachers
Why It Matters
Education is one of the surest ways to break cycles of poverty. By keeping a single classroom open and staffed for a year, we're helping tribal children build the reading, writing, and confidence that will follow them for life. A small, steady commitment like this creates lasting change.
