About This Meal

On September 4, 2026, Equity Heartbeats sponsored a community meal at a village school in rural West Bengal, India, organized together with our partners at the India Tribal Care Trust.

Around 200 tribal community members, from young students to elders, sat down together for a full, freshly cooked meal of rice, dal, vegetable curry, and more, served on traditional leaf plates.

Why It Matters

In many tribal villages, a full, nourishing meal isn’t something every household can count on. Good nutrition helps children focus and grow and helps elders stay strong. It’s the foundation that health and learning build on.

This was our third program in West Bengal this year, after our free medical camp in May and our ongoing sponsorship of Nimai’s Pathshala, all made possible by supporters here in the U.S.
